Where to Stay on Tierra del Fuego

Mountains and glaciers in Tierra del Fuego, Chile

Chilean Tierra del Fuego is a fantastical world of glaciers, turquoise lakes and wildlife. It also has some of the most exclusive fishing resorts in the world.

The only town on the Chilean side of Tierra del Fuego is Porvenir, but the best places to stay are hours south of town.

My first time in Porvenir I stayed at Shinka Hospedaje. I loved it so much I’ve stayed there on two subsequent trips. Check out my blog about Porvenir for info on Shinka Hospedaje. Lodging south of Porvenir is limited, so if you aren’t prepared to camp, make plans well in advance for these fantastic places.

Lago Deseado Lodge: Contact them on their website. These are very exclusive luxury cabins on Lake Deseado. Multi-lingual staff and guides are on hand for all kinds of tours and excursions. Or just relax on the lake. Scroll through the photos for a sample menu. They also have excellent wines to pair with any meal.

Estancia Lago Fagnano: Email them for reservations: estancialagofagnano@gmail.com . This is run by the Genskowski Family. They have three cabins that they rent out. You can see more information on their Instagram page.

Las Lengas Hosteria: Contact them on their website. This is also on Lago Blanco. There are six rooms in the lodge and two cabins.

Lago Blanco Lodge: Contact them on their website and check out a video about the owner. There are two cabins and one lodge with 50 beds and a communal kitchen.

Karunkinka Camping: Email them for reservations at: visitaskarukinka@gmail.com. This part of Karunkinka Natural Park administered by WSC.
