Three Monkeys
South of Plaza de Armas
This coffee shop was rated in the top 100 in the world and features a menu of locally grown coffees that reads like a wine menu.
Florencia y Fortunata
On the north corner of the Plaza de Armas, Florencia y Fortunata serves excellent coffee with a big dose of revolution. The café’s mission, besides serving great coffee, is to support women in the coffee business. They buy coffee grown and roasted by women and sell roasted coffee you can take home.
Xapiri Ground
San Blas
This coffee shop and art gallery has great coffee, the best hot chocolate in Cusco and a fabulous variety of art from the Peruvian Amazon. Check the notice board outside for events. Xapiri regularly hosts talks with artists and interactive music or visual art events.
Café d’Wasi
Historic center: Santa Catalina & Heladeros
Café d’Wasi is where you want to go if you love good coffee and want to choose your brewing method. They have everything from French press and Aeropress to Chemex and Siphon. There’s also great espresso and cold brew. They have a good menu for breakfast and lunch. I’m partial to the waffles and the lomo saltado sandwich.
Cicciolina Cafe
Historic Center
This café has fantastic homemade bread and pastries plus well trained baristas who make great coffee. It has a full breakfast menu and a limited lunch and dinner menu. If you dined at the Cicciolina restaurant and want more the next morning, this is the place. The café also packs picnic lunches for your hikes.
L’Atelier
San Blas
This is a tiny place with a great balcony and souvenirs. I’ve found the espresso drinks to be great but the chai tea was weak. If you like concept shops, this is one of the best in Cusco.
La Valeriana
Avenida del Sol & Historic Center
Both locations have fantastic cakes and pastries. The chocolate cake is the best in town, as is the naked unicorn. The coffee and tea are very good.
