Destinos Ica

Tours with Destinos Ica Peru

My five days with Destinos Ica took me to some of the most beautiful places in Peru’s wine country and coast.

I had a fabulous five days with Destinos Ica in Huacachina, Ica, and Paracas. Check out my review of the tours and service with Destinos Ica in my review published by Luxury Latin America.

My favorite tour with Destinos Ica was to Atenas Beach for an activity with scallop divers in a new community tourism project in Paracas. Read more here.

My second favorite tour with Destinos Ica was to Huacachina. Most people only see the crowded, tourist trap side of Huacachina, but I got a private tour in a Polaris dune buggy driven by a professional race car driver and a sunset picnic. The entire experience was way beyond my expectations. Read more about Huacachina here.

My first pisco tasting experience was at Caravedo Distillery, which has been making pisco since 1684.

The first vineyards planted in South America, in the 1540s, were at the Tacama winery, which has excellent wines. I particularly enjoyed the Tannat and a Viognier and Sauvignon Blanc blend. Read my blog about pisco & wine in Ica.

My tour of Chincha was the most interesting part of my week in Ica. Chincha has a vibrant Afro-Peruvian community that still performs their traditional dances at festivals like when I was there for Epiphany, on January 6th. Destinos Ica also took me to Hacienda San José and El Alcazar, below. Read more about my day in Chincha here.

During my time with Destinos Ica, I stayed at the Queirolo winery’s Hotel Viñas Queirolo. Read my Queirolo review published by Luxury Latin America.

Many thanks to photographer Óscar Paz Campuzano for his assistance in photographing all these beautiful places and experiences!
