I had a fantastic time in Madrid though as a spontaneous solo travelers, my first lesson is that you need to plan ahead for Madrid in the summer. I was lucky to find a place to stay.

My unplanned solo trip to Portugal was mostly a product of it being so hot in Seville. I needed a break at the beach and the beaches near Lagos were perfect.

Seville is a lovely city, though it’s so big that it came as a bit of a shock after Granada. Once I adjusted to the big city feel, I enjoyed the museums, flamenco dancing and even the bull fighting ring.

Granada was my first stop in Spain and I loved everything about the city. The people were friendly, the architecture was so very Moroccan and the food was fabulous.
