El Charrúa
This is Arequipa’s premier steak restaurant, with beef options from Uruguay, Argentina, the US and Peru.
They fared better than most during the pandemic by introducing their own delivery service. Now that restaurants are open again, their outdoor patio and indoor separate rooms are bringing back their regulars and enticing new customers to try out the restaurant. I unfortunately didn’t have time to eat here, though I spoke to several Arequipeños who love the place and highly recommend it.
El Charrúa is conveniently located on the Plaza Yanahuara, right next to the mirador. With the Uruguayan flag flying above, you can’t miss it!
