The fine stonework and recessed doorway were only used at important and sacred Incan buildings.

Palacio Manco Capac has a storied past.

According to legend, the first Inca who founded the Inca empire (also called the Incanato, Incario and Tahuantinsuyo), was named Manco Capac and he lived where the hotel is today. Among the archeological sites preserved on the hotel property is an Incan wall, with the signature perfectly cut stones and a double-recessed trapezoidal doorway.

Stay in the 18th century or 19th century rooms.

There are ten rooms in the historic building, which has the lobby and breakfast room. Another ten rooms are in a newer building, where you’ll find the bar and where lunch and dinner are served.

Breakfast is served with a view of Cusco and a grove of eucalyptus trees.

The bartender can make you something simple like a lúcuma and aguaymanto smoothie, or just about any cocktail you can think of.
